This comfortable and friendly little joint in Satwa has long been a destination for those seeking some proper Pakistani comfort food, served in a convivial atmosphere. Outside, a diverse clientele sit at plastic tables, but inside the atmosphere and crowd are both completely different – less cosmopolitan café, more worker’s canteen. Follow the example of the regulars and get stuck into flavoursome lentil dal and boti, chunks of grilled boneless chicken, which are piping hot and nicely spiced. The keema nan is precisely circular and stuffed with a thin layer of mutton mince. It tastes wonderful, but as a curry-toting scoop it’s irritatingly inflexible: use the deliciously buttery parathas instead. Round off with a couple of the near-perfect sweet lassis – absolutely delicious.
