Serving some of the best sushi we’ve ever tasted and a host of stunning fish dishes, Sushi is a firm favourite among Dubai’s Japanese expats. Search it out in the leafy labyrinths of the Grand Hyatt hotel. It may be tiny, but it’s terrific: all dark, warm wood, attentive staff and a sense that you and the 10 other customers who have managed to squeeze inside have stumbled upon a wonderful secret. The menu is short and unfussy, with mains mainly consisting of grilled somethings, and those grilled somethings mainly consisting of fish. The salted rock fish in particular is a stand-out: soft, sweet and delicious. Order the chef’s selection of sushi
for the most tender slices of sashimi this side of Tokyo.
