Want something nicer than a mall-based restaurant, but can’t afford a Michelin-starred meal? Check out Grand Grill, which sits mid-way between the two and serves up a feast of steaks in lively surroundings. The restaurant’s leather-clad interior and open kitchen are welcoming, fuelling a chilled-out vibe that’s reinforced by the chatter of the clientele. The menu offers typical steakhouse fare (prime South African and Australian cuts, seafood and ribs) and, although the prices aren’t cheap, they still compare favourably to other steak restaurants in the area. The steaks themselves are great – good value and nicely cooked – and we’re hooked on the delightfully crispy onion rings. Just make sure you save room for one of the hefty (and tasty) puddings.
