Try a four-course dinner on board this high-end floating restaurant, which cruises down Dubai Creek. Dhs350 (food only), Dhs470 (selected beverages) Timings: 7.45pm-11pm (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday)

From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2010

This is a great meal to treat visiting relatives to. The novelty of cruising up and down the creek in a floating greenhouse, gazing out at the twinkling lights of ‘old Dubai’ is always a tourist pleaser. It can also act as a good distraction from the poor food. The menu looks promising, with gourmet delicacies with a twist, such as snails with Thai herbs and coconut – but, unfortunately, the dishes disappoint. When the bill arrives, you will be left balancing the scales with the boat trip and photo-worthy views on one side and a heavy lump of chewy beef main on the other. Unfortunately, for around Dhs300 per person, the scales tip in the wrong direction. Bateaux Dubai needs to work on striking the right balance, before it draws residents and tourists alike.

Took my girlfriend for a romantic evening. The whole experience was brilliant, standing out on the deck between courses together was a nice extra. The total bill wasn't cheap, but it was worth every penny.

Just tried to book and was told that the prices are 470 for unlimited package and 350 for food only versus 345 and 245 in your article - and the lady on the phone ad no recollection of the prices you mention. Most disappointing, as had asked friends to join based on the prices you quoted...

Having celebrated New Year's Eve onboard we all had a wonderful time the service was excellent, tables set so nice and food gorgeous. The view from on deck on the Dubai fireworks was Superb-well worth the money. Going back for Afternoon Tea in March let see how that fares.

I planned a night on Bateaux for my husband's birthday. It was a lovely evening and great excuse to throw on a pretty dress and take a cruise on the creek. The boat is lovely with dimmed lighting, soft music, dark wood and enough space in between tables, perfect romantic setting. Food was excellent, everything we ordered was delicious. Upon entering, we were given fruit juice while shown to our table. Once seated we were served mini canapes. Shortly after, arrived (in intervals) soup then bread basket, appetizer, then main course and after was dessert. Just as the cruise was ending, came coffee/tea and a small plate of chocolates. Needless to say we were stuffed by the end. In between courses we strolled out on deck and took photos and chatted. I don't understand the scathing review written by the Time Out staff. My only complaint was that staff had to be flagged down a few times for drink orders, it would have been nice if they came to our table to check and see if we needed anything. Would go back!

What an incredible experience!
Dinner on Bateaux Dubai was an unforgettable experience and I can just recommend it.
The romantic atmosphere, the very good service and the mouthwatering food are unique!

One word - AMAZING....
I went for the valentines special, and at first, I must admit, I thought it was a little pricey at just under AED 1000 for 2, BUT, the food was out of this world, we had a bottle of champagne and the service was spot on. Even though we had our champagne, the servers kept offering the other beverages which were included, beers, wine (which was really nice).
I also received a rose and some chocolates, plus a AED 250 voucher off jewellery!

In all, if this was 'Come Dine With Me' I would give it a 10!!

I have been on this boat about 6 times now and it has been 5 star everytime. The staff are amazingly friendly and the food is fabulous (despite the small choice). I would definitely reccommend to anyone who has family visiting Dubai as the sites are fabulous.

wow it was amazing , i loved the place its very romantic very exellent service
i made the booking from out side UAE and was for birthday event ,everything was arranged and under control
we had amazing camera shots and we enjoyed the food .onnly one point that you dont have a big selections for food
but i enjoyed anyway
