From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2010

Nestling at the top of a path that winds past tropical gardens is the Palm Tree Court & Spa, which plays host to this little gem of an eatery. The venue is charmingly retro, with lots of browns, beiges and marble, and the restaurant lies at the end of a live piano lounge. The low hum of chit-chat and steady stream of customers belies White Orchid’s status as a great quality, reasonably priced spot for those seeking Far Eastern cuisine. While the restaurant offers an excellent selection of sushi, the Thai offerings are truly divine: the chicken satay starter comes served with a sensational peanut sauce, while for mains you can’t go wrong with the red curry. Slightly odd is the China-inspired mango duck, which literally comes as a plate of plain duck with a pot of sliced mango on the side – but this is a forgivable faux pas considering the charming service and faultlessness of the rest of the food.
