From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2010

Moroccan cuisine can be a bit hard on vegetarians at times. Its culinary joys predominantly lie with its piping hot pigeon meat pastilas, roasted baby lambs tagines and chickens stuffed with practically everything. And this five-star hotel venue on Sheikh Zayed Road is a case in point. Its melt-in-the mouth tagine marrakeshia (a fluffy concoction of roast lamb shoulder, saffron, lemon and garlic) and its pastila bil hamam (pigeon, crushed almonds, runny eggs and honey) are so luxuriant they could even tempt the most dedicated vegetarian. Of course, there is a variety of vegetarian dishes on offer, including some brave soups and fragrant couscous, but the star of the show is undoubtedly Marrakesh’s flavoursome signature pots and pies. With chef, management and staff all from Marrakesh itself, this white pillared, Moorish-arched restaurant bends over backwards to convince you of its authentic credentials. And it’s a gamble that pays off: although it is hard to escape the five-star hotel feeling (pick a private romantic booth rather than its airy atrium balcony), neither the food nor the service can be questioned. Highly recommended.

Wonderful food and outstanding service. All the dishes met expectations and brought back memories of the best meals we had on visits to morocco. Our toddling daughter was looked after in the most amazing way. The live music was excellent.

The food was sublime with intricate spices and flavors. The ambience was welcoming and the live music phenomenal. The wait staff were attentive and friendly. I will definitely go back if I have the chance.

Had the sea food bastilla, royal cous cous, and tanjiya marakeshiyya. With a couple of soft drinks, the bill was about 210 with the 30% promotion that was available at that time. The food was as close as it gets to Moroccan home cooking, and I have had a couple. The service is great and the live music fits perfectly.

The meal deal on fridays is now 150 AED and you can eat only from the menus they give to you: Soup, Lamp with rice and orange salad. I went there expecting more food and I confess I was disappointed... On booking the table I was informed about this special menu only after I signed the agreement, and is not fair!

It was my first experience to try Morrocon food and actually it was recomended by one of my friend. It was very delicious, the service was superb and me and my wife love the atmosphere.
Surely we will come bac again to Marrakech.
By the way, we also love the tagine there!!!!!
