From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2008

By the time you actually find the DIFC branch, you’ll be starving, so it’s a good thing that GBK produces burgers so big you have to disassemble them to fit them into your mouth. The size of these beefy beasts also means that you’ll have to tightly grip the sourdough bread bun unless you want to tackle it with a knife and fork. The burgers are good, certainly, but the best in Dubai?

The beef bacon option comes with rashers that are way too salty and slightly too tough. The guacamole smartly complements the beef, but doesn’t interact very agreeably with the mayonnaise on the bun. The quality of the black Angus beef used by GBK is unquestionably high, but prepared medium it is a little too damp and lacking in deep, meaty flavour.

The Cajun burger is a better offering when prepared well done and is given a kick by a potent chilli mayo. The best on the menu is the blue cheese burger with stilton. For starters, the deep-fried portobello mushrooms benefit from a dash of pesto and a heap of crisp rocket leaves, although the natural flavour of the mushrooms is slightly overrun by oil.

The fries are crisp, golden and served hot, but this being a gourmet burger destination, perhaps it’s time to dump the plastic pots the dips come in. Not that any of this really matters. It’s all about the burgers.

Im a burger lover and absolutely love them!! Although GBK is on my favourite list I must mention the staff and service sucks! Especially in MIrdiff city centre, they frown when you enter, they ask for payment of the bill while you are still eating (and no it was not closing time). They do not bring plates before the burger (not so gourmet after all! sigh!) There is this particularly tall asian guy at the Mirdiff city centre branch, who has this "I HATE MY JOB" attittude, almost make you never want to go there again..but the burgers....well thats what keeps calling us back...Even the service or the ambience in Festival City is Disappointing. They should really pull up their socks as many people I know prefer service with burgers and if you ask me no body does it better than FUDRUCKERS! Cheers!

The DIFC branch constantly burns the meat, even though I always request it medium well.

I went to the DIFC branch and I had forgotten to pay the tip because of the poor service that I had received. What disgusted me is the fact that one of the staff members came to ask for a tip from me which I found to be unpleasant. I can only pay the tip at my discretion and nobody should come and beg for a tip. If I am happy with the service then I tip. SIMPLE.

We ordered GBK for delivery through 24h and I have to say, this has been the most disappointing experience of using that website. The order took 1 hour to leave the restaurant (no issue with that) but then took 35 minutes to come from DIFC to Business Bay. The result - cold food, delivered in paper bags with the sharer starter on its side and spilled all over the bag; stone cold burgers and fries and a vow NEVER to order from this restaurant again.

Went to the outlet at Festival City. Very friendly Staff, helped us with our selection and menu. The burgers were good and huge. Couldnt finish them. The only negative, they don't keep 1L water bottles only 500ml.

This is with regards to Marina brunch, but there is no seperate section for Marina.
Decor is shaby and dirty.
Very Very slow service. Waited 30 min for startes ( squid rings & portabelo mashrooms) and then cancelled the ther rest of the order as had to go back to the office. Mashrooms were not served at all and Burgers were not even ready to be served after starter was finished ( 40 min from placing the order !).
Drink took also a very long time to arrive and once it did it was wrong.
Calamari was tasty, never had a chance to try mashrooms or burgers

Love Burger Kitchen although their menu could be a bit more divers. I mean even McD manages to get some change into it.

Now I must admit, I'm liviing on GBK since a few years dining with them, mostly on delivery an average of 2-4 times a week. The only thing that is killing me again and again, and in fact I had just paused for about 3 months ordering, is their absolute nightmare of delivery service order taking. Yes, the 0800 number.

Now, not only that they can't get an order right. Of the last 10 orders I placed at least 4 times they mixed something up, forgot something....no, what's worse is that you call and while placing your order you have to repeat things x times, sometimes because they don't pay attention, sometimes because they simply don't understand better but worst because in between they keep on talking to each other etc. etc.

Nightmare. But, then, 70 % of the places in Dubai are probably the same except most of the hotel restaurants where staff, except new ones, is well trained.

The service in DIFC is a little better than Dubai Marina where in it took very long time to give us the food we ordered. To top it all, the appetizer came with the main course. Service was bad.

The salad was too bitter, the burger tasted as if it had been taken out of a freezer and put in a microwave, in addition to the fact it seemed like i was having a bit of meat with my oil. Also they were a little slow and messed up with the milkshakes.

Tried GBK at the Festival City Branch on recommendation from a friend, and we were not disappointed. Although I'm not a red meat eater, I enjoyed the chicken avocado burger - my only complaint was that it wasn't grilled like the rest of the beef burgers.

My husband the die-hard carnivore however, absolutelly loved his chilli buger - the beef is very high quality and the toppings are unique. The Snickers Shake is delicious but humungous so I think it's better to share the shakes and fries here unless you're feeling like a glutton :)
