From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2008

Asado – The Palace hotel’s Argentinean grill – is no ordinary steakhouse. The interior of the restaurant may offer the kind of gaucho tat, rough-stone walls and open kitchen you might expect at a high-end South American meat joint, but you can take a table on the terrace and marvel at the Burj Dubai, already over 600 metres high.

The soup of the day is worth a look. Devour a thick, creamy and rustic mushroom broth with a drop of herby olive oil – which arrives in a modestly sized bowl, leaving plenty of room for the main. Opt for the 7oz tenderloin steak, which arrives with a side order of thick-cut fries arranged like building blocks. The steak here is beautifully marbled, sensationally tender and tasty.

If you don’t want steak, there’s a chicken and a vegetable (sweetcorn) option in reserve, which is a little lighter. This is just as well, because you won’t want to leave any of the superb apple tart, which lies prostrate under a majestic scoop of vanilla ice-cream that complements the sharp, sweet slices of fruit with its lush creaminess.

One of the best restaurants in Dubai. The steaks are amazing. An autentic Argentinian restaurant.

Just a hint: Although not in the menu, after finishing your meal, ask for one "terere" and enjoy this typical drink ;)

Cheers!

Horrible experience! Coming from Buenos Aires I must say that you can eat a lot better in any street restaurant in that city that in this fancy one. This is not argentine food!!! Keep away! High prices for very low quality!

i had the best meal there with my husband and daughter of 20 months! i ordered the tenderloin which was amazing while my hubby ordered a grill platter which was waaaay to much for him to handle and it was definately worth the value! They even gave us a nice small tiramisu cake since it was my birthday and a card with writings from all the staff. truly amazing! ;-) the only thing i can say we didnt find so invigorating was when the "manager " am not so sure, came to introduce us and it was a lil bit suffocating and my husband showed frustration! hahahaha... but overall it wsa truly a lovely restaurant! expensive too!!! but def worth it! it was my birthday!!! hehe

If you are looking for a decent steak, this is definitely the place for you. With two choices of settings - outside (casual) and inside (romantic) - there is something for everyone. The live band created a very authentic ambiance and the staff were knowledgable and very attentive. Unfortunately, we were slow to get off the ground with a 20 minute wait to order our food and a 1 hour wait between starter and main. The prices were on the steep side so save this place for special occasions. A must for any meat lover!
