3nity Fusion Relaxation Café
Chill out in a Bur Dubai Spinneys 1 Reviews
Let’s get that name out of the way first. We agree it’s a little odd. But although we genuinely have no idea what constitutes ‘fusion relaxation’ (probably something nuclear physicists do after a hard day’s graft), we can throw some light on the pronunciation of the first bit. It’s ‘Trinity’, apparently (don’t ask). So when it comes to fare, ambience and decor, is there anything approaching a holy union here? Not quite. With its garishly pink sofas, orange cushions and turquoise, magazine-strewn reading table, this place is like More Café on Prozac.
But its sense of boundless optimism translates to a comprehensive menu, which should fill a gap whatever your psychological state. If it’s breakfast you’re looking for, there are English, continental and Lebanese options up for grabs, all with tea or coffee. Then there are sandwiches, salads, soups and sushi to dissuade the hunger pangs from launching a midday attack, but if you need some serious sustenance, the grilled beef tenderloin offers a tasty solution. The meat is substantial (if a little overcooked), the mash is creamy, the roasted courgettes, peppers and aubergines are perky, and the steak sauce is flavoursome and dotted with crunchy red peppercorns. Which is all the more satisfying when you consider that you’re sitting in a unit occupying the entrance to a Spinneys supermarket, opposite a branch of McDonalds. Suddenly the term ‘fusion relaxation’ begins to make a lot more sense.
