From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2011

Consistently serving faultless Rajasthani fare, Manvaar has long been a favourite of Time Out. We recommend the ‘dahl bati churma’ – the house specialty, which is so special for its tactile (not to mention tasty) nature. A warm, toasty dumpling will come served with a side of creamy, nutty dahl. The idea is to break up the bun with your hand and get dipping. Needless to say the rest of the menu features gems such as the lemon-based chicken achari that’ll have you licking your lips and mentally planning your next trip down. The service is swift, sweet and friendly, and the restaurant looks and feels the part – all turmeric oranges and chilli reds, that give it a vibrant, yet homely feel.

I Genuinely loved this restaurant and specially rajasthani Daal-Bati-Churma. I drive through Abu Dhabi to Dubai for Daal-Bati-Churma. The décor is purely authentic and staff is very polite with smiling face.

I absolutely love the food here and crave for it quite often. It's authentic Rajasthani food served by staff who know what they are talking about. My favourites are daal baati churma, laal Maas and the papad they serve as an appetiser. :) As far as the ambience is concerned, I've never had an issue. I usually go early before the lunch crowd starts pouring in. It helps me get a good table with the food served on time. I also love the decor in which they've used Rajasthani textiles and dolls.

we go every day in lunch time. The food is great, the service was very friendly and the staff were very helpful and adviced us on selections as we knew nothing about rajasthani food. Thanks to the dal bati churma we have not fallen in love with rajasthani food. Fattening but awesome food. but they don,t accept time out discount card when they winner of time out award

I genuinely loved this restaurant - everyone was right - the Daal-Bati-Churma was superb! My other half had the butter chicken (wasn't feeling too adventurous) and they did a splendid job of that too. We had the non-veg Thali as well - so lovely to try such a range of mini dishes.

The decor and lighting seemed really authentic. The music was a little odd in places but I guess it depends on what you're used to. The service was impeccable (though I guess it was quiet when we went). In any case, for something within this price range you really get your money's worth - highly recommended!

A pleasant surprise this find was. It has within it's space managed to create a feel of Rajasthan. It would have been more fun travelling into the desert to get to it rather than have it in the middle of Karama.
It was crowded on Thursday night with 20-25 min. waiting expected. A wide variety offered and trying many of the available dishes would seem experimental to a non-Rajasthani.
Dal Baati Choorma, Lal Maans, Paneer dish and roti constituted dinner. Once the food arrives, one stops paying further attention to the surroundings. You get engrossed with the task at hand. Food is typically on the spicy side but thouroughly enjoyable. Would like to come again to sample the other dishes.

We had been regulars to this restaurant before.But in the past one year the quality of food has come down so drastically.While their rotis are not bad all their curries (including dal) have oil floating on top and this particular dish called 'methi mutter malai' which was one of my favs there is now a yucky dish with mutter and methi overcooked and the malai refusing to blend in.(I had ordered it on different occasions to give the dish a good benefit of doubt) I wonder how it got the "best Indian restaurant" award??I think 'Rajdhani' on rolla street is a better bet for rajastani food any day.

If your looking for a fun weekend meal with your family, Manwar is the place to go. The place is bustling with people on weekends and is so crowded that you will have to wait for atleast 15 minutes before you can get a table. Although the decor is not too great, air conditioning was not very effective and the restaurant is not what one will call posh, but these things can be compensated for the excellent food they offer. Authentic Indian food and the menu offers lots of variety. Service was very friendly too. Moreover, a total value for money. I would highly recommend this place but beware, the potions were huge even for 4 people so order carefully!

Just got back from dinner at Manvaar. Extremely disappointed with the whole experince. Never seen so many crying kids packed into one restaurant. Would never recommend this place to any one planning to go have a relaxing night out. The tables were so closely packed together, the crying baby right behind me spat into my ear. The management at the restaurant refused to help in anyway despite our request regarding the situation. Even the food sadly failed to rescue the meal. Would ask for my money back plus charges for the medicine I will need to take after that experience. Definately no going back unless they provide free sedatives.

I have never been to a better restaurant in Dubai.

The service is excellent and friendly, the food was perfect! I am so impressed. I think many of the 'fancy' restaurants around need to learn from Manvaar.

Cant wait to go back

Best Indian food ever! Best to go when you aren't ravenous as the service is a little slow but that's only because everything is prepared fresh. The staff is warm and very friendly and every visit only gets better.

Menu looks ridiculous and staff don't posess adequate knowledge.U have to really get their attention. some dishes are OK, but that some is not worth going back to the restaurant
