Fish & Chips Room
Chippy serving up staple British classic to the JBR crowd 16 Reviews
From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2011
For a taste of the seaside on JBR’s The Walk you have only to dive down between the Murjan and Bahar sections of the mammoth housing development to find the closest thing you’re going to get to good ol’ fashioned fish and chips in Dubai. The chips are pleasing chunky and a choice of cod, hammour (and other probably not sustainable options) are up for battering. As are ridiculously-sized lumps of chicken (into nuggets), squid, sausages (not pork, sadly) and for the Scottish, a Mars Bar.
For those that want to eschew batter for pastry, the standard (sub-standard) pies are also on offer. Make no mistake, although this is a restaurant and people do eat in, you’re better off grabbing the boxes and heading down to the beach to polish off your pile of salty, vinegary chips. Having cornered the market for this type of food in the Marina, the Fish and Chip room also delivers and is open until 4am, when you’re probably likely to find many of your Marina neighbours soaking up the evening’s drink with some carbs before bed.
