As a media worker-friendly hotel cafe, it should be noted that this spot does its job. It would do it better, though, if the service were slightly less surly – but fortunately the food and ready availability of wi-fi and plug sockets went some way to redeeming it. There’s also an outdoor area, which earns the place a few extra points. As for the food, the menu has expanded from sandwiches and paninis when the hotel first opened to include everything from pizza to Asian salads, and it’s worth noting that the quality has improved dramatically over the past year. While you’d do well to give the bread basket a miss, the salad bar is well-stocked with fresh cold cuts, condiments and veggies if you want something a little lighter. Cafe M is a good place to stop if you fancy a wallet-friendly lunch with some nutritional value.
