From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2011

This isn’t a restaurant you just stumble upon; buried in the dozens of restaurants on Al Muteena Street it blends in, look out for the bright red and white takeaway style lighting box with Arabic writing (and the English restaurant name in small print underneath). The decor itself is basic Iraqi cafeteria style with an open fire grill, shelves of ornaments and a muddy brown tile theme – but you don’t go here for the decor. Dishes include items you’d typically find in a Middle Eastern eatery including houmous, fattoush, home-cooked bread and a flawlessly prepared tabbouleh.

Here you’ll also find traditional teshreeb (fatteh) with optional lamb or chicken, expect hearty soggy bread, chickpeas and a mild tangy casserole sauce. Specialties include their charcoal grill dishes - lamb chops, meat shawarma and a fresh selection of kebabs such as the baghadi kebab and chicken tikka. If you order a main it should come with a choice of side salads including greens, pickles, beetroot, coleslaw, bread and soup – there’s easily enough if two are sharing a main.

The food is great but you have to be really hungry to finish a meal. I liked the Iraqi kabab, it’s fatty but worth to break the diet.

Bayt al Baghdadi's Masguf is the best fish I have tried in ages!!! It feeds 3 to 4 people and its a 2 kg fish that is put directly on a bed of hot coal. They also have a delicious mango gravy to go with the fish and a traditional iraqi tea to end it all. Service was also very good as the manager took his time to explain what masguf was and how its made realizing that we are non-arabs and its our first time eating it.
Parking has also become a lot easier now as there is a new supermarket that just opened across and you can use their parking lot if you show a receipt of the restaurant upon exiting the parking lot.

Iraqi Restaurant means, Iraqi spacial fresh mutton, and the Iraqi river fish and the logical secret combination of species that they inherit for generation now. and you can ask an old Iraqi lady for that, they have spacial ingredients that they mix in certain portions for each dish and you just ask the ATTAR (spice man) that you want mix for kabab or Kuba or so. even spacial spices for pickles. this restaurant is a part of Baghdad in Dubai.
