From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2011

Every time you walk past this venue, the restaurant seems to be packed with Russians, meaning it must be a good option for Russian fare. Decorated with memorabilia from the country (including a huge freestanding bear), Suvoroff has a very kitsch feel to it. The menu is extensive, stuffed with all the classics such as stroganoff, blinis and borsch, but can be quite hit and miss. The Golubtsy (minced veal wrapped in cabbage) tasted homely and is extremely comforting; whereas the roast duck with stewed apples is so tough it very nearly ended up on the nearby couple’s plate on one of our visits.

They also have a take-away menu, and for some odd reason this is more extensive than if you decide to dine in. The staff don’t speak a word of English, meaning if you are unfamiliar with Russian food, it is can be very hard to understand exactly what some dishes consist of, so you might need to be a little adventurous. Or find a Russian speaking friend to translate.

Food is simple and nice, very similar to home made one. did not like kvas at all, have no idea where did they find it.

But the service is awful. russian non-smiling faces, most of them just arrived to dubai, one of the guys did not know english...

If you want to get familiar with russian food, I would not recommend to go to this restaurant. Cooking is too ordinary. Most of the dishes are not tasty.
Service in the restaurant is very bad. Staff definitely needs more training.
Also I didn't like the atmosphere. Decor is not very russian and no music at all. It's quite boring to spend time there. I would never recommend this place to my friends because I don't want to feel shame for russian cuisine. Russian food is amazingly tasty, but not in this restaurant...

Nice restaurant. Sometimes having dinner there and always satisfied with food. Never noticed poor service, as people mentioned here in their comments. Service average for Marina Walk restaurants, not the best, but not that bad as as people writing.

I went there with a friend for the first time, had never tried Russian food before this so I couldnt really "compare" to other restaurants, I will say however that the portions are TINY... and EXPENSIVE in comparison to other nearby restaurants in this area.

Would I return? Yes, simply because I dont know where else to get Blinys and Farmers Salad... if I find a suitable replacement, I will stop eating here.

The owner of this restaurant had invested a lot into an interior, but he had not invest even single penny into a staff training and into service.
I have been there only once and that was more than enough!
I am from Russia and i know what to expect from Russian cuisine.
The main course I had was full of fat. It was so oily as it was topped up with oil!
I called a waiter and told him, that my stomach is not gonna accept this and I'm not gonna eat it. The waiter took my plate out, but after couple of minutes he brought the same plate back, just strained out the oil. Even the plate was dirty and still had oil drops on the side. I did not even touch it. But I was asked to pay for that dish.
None of managers ore any superiors visited our table. Nobody asked us how was our meal.
That was terrible!
My wife was eating Sushi ordered from the next door restaurant (same owner). Next time I'm gonna eat sushi as well, but definitely in another place.

The service in this restaurant is terrible. The waitress spoke only broken English and could not understand even basic instructions. We ended up pointing at the menu to order but she even struggled to read the menu. The food is ok but not a patch on real Russian food.
