Chhappan Bhog
From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2011
Ironic that it has Bhog in its title as this little southern Indian eatery and sweet shop, unfortunately will make you feel bogged down with the unsatisfying, flavourless food and appalling service. Facing a dusty highway overlooking an elevated road there is not much of a setting to speak of, inside the restaurant the sweets draw you in. Set in a permanent cabinet they are beautifully decorated and colourful but not at all cheap. Chhappan Bhog tries to be the Indian version of a Parisian delicatessen, the adjacent coffee shop style seating area with modern Indian art supposedly offers meals and the menu is vast, with Chinese food, Indian food and snacks. However the dinner menu only kicks off after 7pm before that it's just snacks such as samosas, naan and paratha and a strange masala double decker sandwich, but they do tend to run out of them all. We would recommend going later and experiencing their proper dinner menu.
