A seasonal special menu of dishes using asparagus, such as white asparagus soup with smoked salmon ravioli and tagliatelle with green asparagus, spring morels and parmesan cheese. Prices vary Timings: 7pm-11.30pm (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday)

From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2011

This steakhouse in Raffles has a manly feel, with its exposed red brick walls. It doesn’t do anything wrong: the service is friendly and there's a gentle atmosphere. It is just not very memorable. The menu isn’t too innovative and has all the usuals (wagyu beef, lamb shanks, oysters), and it’s more a matter of style over substance. The starters of lobster and scallops are perfectly fresh but they just don't have any personality. We’d recommend sticking to their signature steaks as these are cooked perfectly and the meat is obviously of high quality. Anything else on the menu falls disappointingly flat and, when you are paying high prices, you need to go for a failsafe option. It is a pleasant enough place to come for a meal, but doesn’t have the wow factor that matches the final bill.

I went this evening for an absolutley amazing Dinner!! Got there for our reservation and were greeted by the choose of sitting at the bar for a drink first which of course we did and i ordered a Rasberry Martini which was very well presented and tasted superb then when we were ready we headed to our table and a a beautiful steak and risotto!! THe starters were enough for one person and the portion size of the main course was perfect. It filled you up comfortably without feeling as if you were going to explode. The wine was also gorgeous accompanying the very romantic atmosphere and the great service.
Although a little pricey it was well worth every Dirham!!

Would never go back there... and here is why...

Got there at 9.00pm... it took the waiter over 30 minutes to take our orders. we had less than a waiter for a table of 14 people.

The appetizers came... an hour later. not even that good. they didn't get us plates to eat the appetizers so we had to eat using our bread/butter plates

Then... at 12.07am... our steaks came!! None of us got the right medium/ well done combinations we asked for. The side dishes were not right... and for those of us who chose to share, we had to continue using our bread/ butter plates as they did not get us our own plates.

For the huge amount that we paid... it was so not worth it!!

I was there about 8 months ago and it was excellent, the steaks were perfect and the service great. However I went back there on Wed night and it was terrible. I ordered a well done steak with mushroom sauce. The steak came out really dry, like leather actually, and the mushroom sauce seemed like simply runny meat juice with chopped mushrooms added.

I also ordered a dry Martini (gin) as an aperitif and wine for the main course. However the Martini was no where near cold enough and came so late that it ended up being served at the same time as the wine for the main course. I asked the waitress if the chef was new and he apparently is and is “still learning” lol. Later that week I went to a simple chain restaurant and had steak that was ten times better for a third of the cost. When I did complain they suggest I come back in January when the Chef has had time to improve and create dishes that he is better able to cook. Omg

WOW! The ambience, the welcoming, the starters, o that gazpatcho! The Wagyu! The Cheese platter! The calamari... The bread loaf at the beginning. Such a journey of food ended in sorrow that we were full. Comming back? Definetly. We had to call the chef and thank him personaly at our table!
Tip: Ask for a waiter called Simon to serve you, I think he is the best in Dubai so far.

Love this place. Very accomodating staff and very polite. We went for Valentines day and it was a good set of food. Excellent wine choices. Good taste in music and its an evening to be experienced. =)

Having been offered a 40% discount with my Emirates Platinum card for a few weeks; i decided to try out this eaterie with a colleague from work. I had heard it was expensive. Although the ambiance is a little macho; it is nothing like as bad as The Observatory! It was not too busy on a Thursday evening and the service was nothing less than outstanding. I decided to try the Wagyu beef, as this is something normally beyond my budget; my friend tried the veal. We both thought the meal was exceptionally good. The beef steak was probably one of the best I have ever eaten. I chose aspargus and chips as an accompaniment; the meal comes with little to add interest. The aspargus was divine; the chips were awful; very very greasy and flaky. I prefer my chips al dente and dry! Otherwise a perfect meal; we were offered excellent advice by the wine waiter; he helped me select a very pleasant red; as an habitual white wine drinker; this was
very welcome. I was a little disappointed the hosue champagne was Moet; not my favourite but cleansed the palette well enough. At 40% off the cost was VERY reasonable and overall, despite a couple of minor disappointments; a really good fine dining experience.

What an evening! Arriving a little late (and thus embarrassed) for our reservation, we were quickly made at home with a courteous and warm welcome. As a first timer the décor was stunningly impressive and while being shown to the table, I could not help but to stop in the cellar section just to take it all in.
We opted for the degustation menu which turned out to be an innovative seven course feast based on the four elements, leaving no space for night snack back home. As for the variety and spread of the foods, we were also asked if we would like to enjoy a wine pairing through out the meal. Said and done.
Every course of this, what I would call eclectic menu, came out with meticulous design and an explosion of well balanced and merging textures and flavours. Add to that a bold yet confident and impeccable wine paring. Wow!!! Even more enjoyable with the wine pairing was the wine journey itself, representing the best from all corners of the world rather than being generic or stuck in a specific genre or style.
The service of course deserves mentioning in its own right. As pointed out elsewhere in this forum, it was attentive without being intrusive, but even more so, also genuinely friendly, with a gentle balance of natural interaction and professional stand by.
We became to self absorbed to notice whether the restaurant was full or not and it did not matter. Yet, with the generous seating and table space I some how doubt that you would ever feel crowded should it be smack full, nor feel alone thanks to the genuine experience.
For me, it will definitely be a next time!!!

This was a great dining experience. The various courses were full of surprise and very delicious. Each wine matched the course very well. The service was impeccable, attentive but not intrusive.

Pretentious twaddle. Confusing menu which was not well explained and the waitress refused to allow us to order a la carte. Food OK but suspect highly MSG'd. Zero atmosphere and and atrocious value for money. A pointless exercise only for those with inflated expense accounts and egos.

This was a very disappointing evening out. We were informed that we could order a la carte from the disgestion menu, but were not informed that it would be disgestion portions at a la carte prices.
My dining partner , a normal aussie male, was horrified when fish finger sized steak arrived before him as a main course, this was after the waiter tried to tell him that his glass of Tyrells wine came from New Zealand.
We then understood why the restaurant was close to empty at prime time on a Friday evening.
