I am a big fan of Royal Orchid's food but the service out here is pathetic...I ordered my food and Pilipino waiter came to put plates with no greeting..my plate was dirty and I asked him to bring prawn crackers which he brought after 20 mins..I believe somebody was forcing him to serve.

Manager was passed by 2 times and he didn't bothered to ask satisfaction.

Ordered delivery from Royal Orchid; food took nearly 2 hours to arrive and was lukewarm. We opted for duck dumplings with plum sauce, a red curry with chicken, vegetable pad thai noodles, and a chocolate wonton dessert. We also decided to try one of the "cocktails," which promised passion fruit and pineapple. First bad sign: no dessert and delivery would be an hour. We received this phone call 30 minutes after we had placed the order, so I asked whether that meant an hour from when I ordered or an hour from the time the woman called. She said from when I ordered.... Obviously false. The duck dumplings were terrible and didn't actually come with a plum sauce, but rather the generic sweet/sour chili sauce that comes with the standard spring roll order. The "dumplings" were not at all dumpling-esque--they were dried out balls of something that vaguely might have tasted like duck, but generally lacking in anything remotely resembling flavor. The cocktail was the most laughable item in our delivery bag, as it looked, smelled, and tasted exactly like Tang. The curry and noodles were just ok. The noodles were heavy on the tamarind flavor and the vegetables looked almost definitely canned/frozen. The curry had a decent spice level and wasn't at all watery, but it was nearly impossible to overlook the grease layer on top. Lastly, portions were tiny considering the price; the takeaway containers weren't even really containers (plastic film instead of lids?) and all they gave us in terms of utensils were four spoons (what). Needless to say, we will NOT be frequenting Royal Orchid again.

This is our favorite Thai Restaurant in Dubai, my wife loves the foods, and the price is reasonable, on every occasions were celebrating it here, like valentines and our birthdays, anniversaries, this valentines were going to celebrate it here once again,

Had a fantastic meal here. The crispy duck was yum and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meal appetizers and mains. Service was excellent and bill was reasonable. Will definately be going back again.

We ate dinner at the Royal Orchid, Festival City on Fri. It was the worst experience ever. We sat outside and there were smoke burns in the sofas. The place was extremely badly maintained, even the tables weren't cleaned properly. There was a lot of rush at the restaurant so we would have excused the late service. However, our hostess didn't even have a smile on her face. She was arrogant, took ages to respond to us, we had to call her twice to even take our order, she then took 45 mins to get the food. The food was terrible for the price that we paid for it. Either they need to reduce their prices to a low key Thai/chinese restaurant or better their service and quality of food. For one, they need to reduce the oil. There's a film of oil on your lips after every bite that you eat. To add to the bad experience, one of the waiters dropped a spring roll from the plate he was carrying. When one of the hostesses pointed it out, he actually told her "serve it to the guest, coz they wont know how many spring rolls come in a plate" :O Definitely never eating @ Royal Orchid again!!!

Its a nice place for a casual chinese/thai food. Sunita with all due respect if you want to eat vegetarian there are plenty of indian style chinese and thai restaurants in Karama and Bur Dubai (your little India). Don't blame them and give them some margin for they couldnt see on your foreheads that you are a vegetarian. Secondly, if they served you wrong then its normal to charge that wrong dish and you can always sort it out with them. Did they force you to pay for the wrong dish? I guess not. I wonder how people expect to be served as royals when they want to eat at their own terms and that too using vouchers and free meals! Remember, you only get what you pay for.

P.S theres a nice place called saravana bhojan shala (I wonder how you can say this altogether) which i am sure must be service great veg food!

I went to this place on my Birthday 4th Feb 2012, had such great expectations as its the only Thai Restaurant which serves Vegetarian Thai curry (vegetarian Paste used in the Thai curry) i must say it was very very disappointing experience. Firstly the staff were very arrogant & rude in handling the order, we took the private rooms so we had to keep calling them again & again. Secondly inspite of clearly specifying that we are VEGETARIANS, we were served Chicken Green curry, on top the Server "Nikesh" his name was kept apologizing and after a while he gets the correct order. To the most shocking experience on the bill he actually charged us for Thai Curry Chicken (52 dhs) instead of Thai curry Vegetarian (44dhs), after i told him again he is saying Sorry! We had Entertainer Vouchers and he refused to accept them saying it a Public Holiday & voucher is not valid, on arguing he finally gave in and accepted. Very Very disappointing experience, service & value for money. I would never go back again.

It was one of the most horrifying experiences. went there after a tiring day full of picnic, bbq and a movie. Thought of trying a place quite advertised for thai food, being a big fan and on demand to have the thai sticky rice with mango, chose orchid. The main disappointment was the service, not only were the waiters not to be spotted, they also ran away from guests. Every time we would call someone to our table they would take 15 min to call someone else to attend to us. this was not enough when we ordered food, it was served half n hour late the orange juice (a mixture of rani juice and tang) came to us after 20min. the sheesha was horrible too, we had to return it back. finally when the much awaited sticky rice and mango arrived, after a half n hour wait, the rice weren't sticky moreover they were burnt. the mango was a regular local off season mango. we had to ask for the manager, who took another 15 min to come see us, he argued about everything, the juice, the food, the desert... he walked away arrogantly once we finished our feedback. we asked for the bill and there seemed to be a long 20min wait again to which i took off and entered inside, to see that they had charged us for everything, even things we returned... and guess what, i did get a view of their kitchen, the juice served was indeed Rani, the manger was such a a liar... Lemon grass for Thai is any day a much much better option!!!
