From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2011

Indian mall food is a difficult thing to get right. It’s got to be quick and easy but also tasty and filling, without being loaded with oil. OK so mall food is more about satisfying hunger, than astounding the tastebuds but it’s still possible to be disappointed. Indian Pavilion is one of a strip of restaurants, but once you’re sat down you’re far enough away from the main mall drag for it to be a little quieter. Indian Pavilion’s menu sticks to the curry basics, more likely catering for those who haven’t grown up with this food, so you’ll find masala favourites, butter chicken and jalfrezi but not much interesting deviation.

There’s a healthy amount of veggie options but all curries come as platters, and along with rice you also get salad and for some reason, potato wedges. Although the food is piping hot, it’s also been reheated to within an inch of its life. Service is fast and efficient and it’s not going to dent your pocket much, for curry in a hurry this will take some beating. But with a little more time and effort there are much better places to hit for an Indian fix.

Went with extended family for dinner. Found the food to be very tasty. All dishes come with salad, potato balls, 'raita' , Dal and Rice/ Roti. So one dish per person is a complete meal. One can always order additional Rice or Roti, but the portions are adequate for an adult male. Service was prompt, and the ambiance was fine. It was a Saturday night, and did not feel disturbed by the Mall atmosphere. The meals range from AED 40 to 70.

P.S. The picture on top did not match the decor on 08 Sep 12.

I have to differ from this review! I love this place for home delivery. Amazing Daal, Fantastic Allepy Fish Curry, great value and prompt delivery. Same to be said for Al Wasl rd branch too. Never dined in and maybe Mall ambience is not great but you should definitely try them for home delivery. Yum!
