Mirchi
Bargain Indian dining at Uptown Mirdif 13 Reviews
From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2011
Mirchi is the sort of non-descript mall eatery you might easily overlook. Only there's a spacious outdoor terrace and some tasty Indian food to be had. It's pretty cheap too. Nestled up against Pizza Naples at one end of the Uptown Mirdif complex, Mirchi offers an accessible take on Indian cuisine, with a special focus on Punjabi dishes, such as lamb rogan josh and saag gosht. There are plenty of familiar favourites on the menu too, from chicken tikka masala and shrimp biryani to butter chicken and Peshawari naan.
Dishes are toned down a little for international palates, but not to the extent that the original flavours are masked. A surplus of friendly waiting staff means that dishes come and go at a good pace. This isn't really a restaurant to go out of your way for – it sits directly under the airport flight path and there are certainly better Indian restaurants in town – but if you're in Mirdif, Mirchi makes a welcome change from the other mall-based food stops.
