Once a front-runner in subcontinental cuisine, Options has gone downhill in recent times. Disappointingly, it seems celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor has taken his eye of the ball – a distinct lack of diners last time we visited speaks volumes. The interior is as tacky and OTT as ever – dripping in velvet, gilt gold and crystals – you will either love it or hate it. And whilst the food appears to have got pricier, the quality has slipped the other way. Despite diligent presentation, and very attentive waiters, the luke-warm food, flavourless meat and stingy portion sizes lets the restaurant down and will underwhelm. Add to that sub-zero temperatures, as the staff seem to love the AC on seriously chilly – and you have an overpriced restaurant which desperately needs to find its mojo again.
