Issimo Bar & Lounge
Business-like bar food in the Hilton Dubai Creek Discuss this article
From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2011
This ‘bachelor pad’ styled bar doesn’t quite live up to its fabulously designed interior. Leather seats, sofas and glass-topped tables give it a cool and trendy vibe. If you’re not a hotel resident it’s probably not the kind of place you’d head for a night out; it’s more a stop-off for a quick beverage before you move on to somewhere more lively. The food selection for such a bar is rather odd. Tagliatelle and butternut squash soup are not what you’d expect to find on the menu. The tables are so tiny that once you have your drinks, a bowl of soup, basket of fresh rolls and condiments leaves little elbow room. The quality isn’t bad. It’s fresh and hot. Fish and chips are ample, the chips more slabs than fries but delicious all the same. A portion of Issimo’s own-style peas and tartare sauce complement the meal nicely. But be sure to check what is in each dish. The linguini was supposed to come with seafood; however, it was just green pesto with a few sundried tomatoes – disappointing. No desserts are on offer but the bar’s mixed drinks menu is extensive.
