From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2011

Don’t be pertrubed by Zafran’s rather unappealing mall location – this Indian restaurant in Mirdif serves a ‘contemporary Indian with a twist’, and while such descriptions are often intended to confound diners, Zafran at least delivers on its promise. Starters include shami (lentil and mutton mince patties), murgh gelawati (chicken kebab patties), and karara kekda (oil-fried soft-shell crab). Mains consist of more conventional fare served, dare we say it, with a twist. The mutton rogan josh comes in the form of a hearty lamb shank, and it won't take you long to strip the soft, curried meat from the bone before moving onto the ajwaini jhingae – glistening, juicy prawns, flavoured with carom seeds. Top marks for food – if only Zafran wasn’t slap-bang in the middle of a half-empty mall.

The food in zafran is absolutely stunning , i will definitely go back there,
we went on a Friday and it was overflowing with people, we somehow manage to get a table the staffs were very helpful, and the service in a mall atmosphere is really great. Food is really nice , slightly overpriced but overall it is great . I definitely recommend zafran to every one.

I Went to this restaurant last thursday, However do not recommend this to anyone. First and foremost the food is not worth of the price they are charging. The food is being served cold. Service is also ok.
Definitely there are better Indian restuarant than this. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL FROM ME ALOS.

DISAPPOINTED SERVICE:

It's shame! we were not been informed by the waiting staffs that they had special Ramadan buffet even after finishing our dinner, we entered from the south entrance and had dinner in a window table, when we left through the other entrance we saw the buffet lined up, when asked the store manager is least bothered to apologize.

A part from this Good venue, delicious food, great interior, Good Luck!

We went to this restaurant last thursday with a group of 8 people.The service was very slow.It took them 10 minutes to take the order then it took other 40 minutes to arrive and it was cold whatever we ordered.the naan was cold so were all the chicken dishes(chicken tike masala and the chicken kabob).very disappointing in taste,everything was so sweet and the server bought the biryani along with the naan without asking us when we would like it to be served.This place is just right for a mall where you can have walk in customers but for sure I would not go there especially for the food.
Getting the bill it took other 10 minutes.The staff is half asleep .

the food here is excellent. The only thing that lets this restaurant down is the lack of customers. Appreciate a mall is not the best place for dining out but the food is well worth the effort of getting to mirdiff mall.

the chef was also very accommodating in making the food to the level of spiciness that we wanted.

Service is sometimes a little hit and miss

Excellent food and very friendly service.
Although slightly pricey but they offered discount on
card which made it pretty reasonable.

Had a bad experience. Service was horrendous. Restaurant Supervisor seemed biased. Good Decor would be futile in case the service is bad. Need more service oriented team to make the restaurant run. Not recommended.

Good decor and ambience. Food ordered was tasty. Very little choice for vegetarians on the curry items - hardly three were there .... quantity served per portion is less, so need to consider that while ordering. The best Cheese Chili Naan was very nice and is highly recommended. Totally authentic Indian cuisine if you want, you may visit. As one always goes to the foodcourt in Malls, but in a Mall to go to a restaurant and dine is really nice thing to do.

Very dissapointed

Very Bad Service, pricy for the type of food, waiter messed our order, desert took half an hour to arrive, 3 out of 4 deserts were not available.

Would recommend Tiffin Bites over Zafran if you are adament to dine in Mirdif City Center.

beautiful decor and delicious food
Its a must visit place in mirdiff city centre for delicious indian food
selection of kebab with dal makahni and cheese naan is wonderfull
love to go there for their molten cake and kulfi selection.
very friendly staff and nice comfortable sofa seating after shopping at mall

This is for Sanegi, in case you dont know Filipinos ave been voted the best workers for speaking English. That is why Filipinos waiters are used in Zafran, get used to it, because everyone prefers smart Filipino workers with excellent English skills nowadays

The food was great, Indian but very different, they messed up the cocktail order but apologized and waived the rates for the same.

Very courteous staff, always smiling, and soft spoken, will definitely go again.

But bad location in the mall, both restaurants in the locality were almost empty. What a shame. Good food try once, but expensive. ( approx 150 Per person.)

Very bad food, Too much Salt and bad taste
Dishes names are exotic but taste very bad
Waiters forget to bring cocktail and at the end give excuse
Worse Cocktail I ever had
When I spoke to manager he seems to careless
I will never go back there even if they offer me free
and definitely not recommended to anyone.

Horrid experience!
the chicken was HARD
the waiters could not understand what you ordered
filipinos working in an Indian restaurant?? they cannot pronounce nor understand Indian dishes.
NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL
