From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2011
As one of the many restaurants that line the floor by the cinemas of Deira City Centre, L’Auberge serves up Lebanese fare with a few ‘special choices’ that include pastas and even shanghai chicken. There’s a good variety of steak on offer too if you’re not after kebabs and seafood. Service is a bit hit and miss here…and so is the food. The houmous with tough, chewy flavourless meat arrives without any bread, which is baked fresh from the oven and takes longer than usual to reach tables. The taste experience doesn’t improve with mains such as the shish taouk, where a few chunks are given too generous a helping of salt, while the arayes is drier than you'd expected. It's only the cuttlefish, which can be tricky to handle, that's surprisingly any good. Wash it all down with fresh avocado juice, bringing a delicious end to what will otherwise be a rather forgettable meal.
