The kare-kare at Goto King is tripe. That’s not to say it isn’t up to scratch, because it is. But it’s made out of tripe (stomach), which may put the less adventurous diners off a little bit. The dish is a curious amalgam of tripe and oxtail boiled up into a glutinous stew, to which peanuts and rice are added to make it even thicker.

And it’s surprisingly tasty. As well as the kare-kare, you’ll find all the Filipino staples, all well cooked and very cheaply priced.
