Black Canyon
Fast food Thai cuisine will fill a hole but that’s about all 2 Reviews
Black Canyon sits solidly at the fast food end of Thai and Asian food spectrum. Although there’s plenty of choice on the menu between pad Thai, various curries, noodle or rice dishes, wok specials and deep-fried starters, the garish menu doesn’t exactly delight the senses. This is serve ‘em quick, feed ‘em cheap territory and the fairly bare space that Black Canyon inhibits in Festival City doesn’t make a long lingering lunch an attractive prospect.
Starters and main course will arrive at the same time unless you clearly ask otherwise and the speed with which dishes arrive from the kitchen (at nuclear-hot temperatures) would suggest that there’s a very busy microwave behind the scenes. Although the menu proclaims its offerings to be healthy food, a cashew nut and chicken curry is almost tasteless whilst a portion of crisp money bags with minced chicken can only be livened up with huge dollops of sweet chilli sauce. For a quick meal that’s not a burger or steak, Black Canyon fits the bill, but there are far better outlets in Festival City.
