If the motto for Belgium’s most famous draught beverage is ‘Reassuringly expensive’, the Belgian Beer Café in the Grand Millennium Hotel in TECOM is just as reassuringly busy. In fact, don’t turn up without booking a table first, or you could be waiting a long time. Busy and slightly harassed staff fly about, trying their best to fight fires. No time for politeness.

Bar-style food takes an age to arrive, but food is served piping hot, well-prepared and tasty. The bar is stocked with an excellent selection of draughts, served by bar staff hopping from customer to customer before they have finished pouring the first one’s drink. A lack of geniality does little to dampen a lively, buzzing atmosphere that adds to the dining experience – as long as you are not too impatient.

I live in Tecom. I have a 20% discount on BBC in Tecom, and I prefer to go to the BBC in Madinat Jumeirah, by taxi and NO DISCOUNT.

I hate paying for tasteless overcooked mussels. I prefer to pay the real fare for the real thing.

After reading the TO review, we decided to book at this restaurant anyway on Christmas Eve because as a family we have enjoyed mussels, fries and lovely Belgian beer in many cities around the world and it has always been a special meal for us. The last time was in Shanghai which was as good as being in Belgium itself. This was our hopes for the Belgian Cafe at the Millenium. We ordered beers which were wonderful and a bit of hot bread arrived which was a good sign for things to come. The large pots of mussels arrives strangely lacking in any aroma but the fries were absolutely superb. I cannot describe the disappointment in the mussels which not only lacked aroma but any taste at all - no garlic, no wine, no nothing. I've never experienced anything like it in just complete lack of any flavour and the description of spiked water just about sums it up but I would have said used bath water. Shame, because this is not a difficult thing to produce but seems that nothing has changed since the opening review. The service was also as described, ok but not great and after the main was served, we never saw her again until the bill was produced. AED 600 for bread, 4 mussels, 4 fries and 3 beers seems a bit extreme. The ambience fab and all the right ingredients to be a great destination unfortunately, mediocre service and bad moules does not equal AED 600. Give it a miss.

I love the ambiance and the Belgian beer and food . It is always busy and that shows the place runs well and happy costumers .
You need to keep in mind that it is not a fine dining restaurant and that the service is more to the casual side . Thats why I always have a great evening. Go Belgian

Been at BBC since beginning and always enjoyed it . Love the mussels and the variety of beers. The service is casual and on the spot.I have seen many changes since the beginning but all for the better . I recommend this place if you want to have a casual evening with good food - beer -service.

Terrible.. Not once, but twice. On both occasions, the worst service hands down i have ever experienced, with only 5 people in our group not one person ate their meal with another. 5 Meals appeared over a time of 40 mins. When the last meal had not arrived we were informed they were "out" of that choice. Shouted a round of beers to make us forget the horrible experience. Terrible uninterested staff, poor service, average food.

The usual Dubai disease with new openings, however lovely the atmos, appalling service and I suspect the management wont read this general feedback from us all..... they should, then we might all return when fixed. Solution = pay for decnet staff, get decent service
