Ever feel like eating in a beautiful setting without all the formalities of fine dining? Bahri Bar’s excellent summer bar menu and stunning views over the Madinat waterways (Bahri means ‘view of the sea’) provide the perfect combination. These are not just bar snacks; the chicken and beef kebabs are tender and succulent, as are mini-burgers topped with delicious caramelised onion. Potato wedges with a twist are deep fried in a crispy batter and served with sour cream. Service can lapse into the inattentive, though if called up on it, the staff and management go to great lengths to redeem themselves. In most bars, food – albeit bar food – is merely an afterthought. At Bahri, it seems that the management want to serve something that equals the blissful setting under the magnificent Burj Al Arab.
