No chic Sherlock Holmes theme pub with simple grub 2 Reviews
There is something distinctly false about most of the ‘traditional British pubs’ in Dubai. They have a cleanliness and newness that would stick out a mile on the cobbled back streets of most UK cities. Sherlock Holmes does not. Instead, it feels genuinely old. Tables rock back and forth, demanding that beer mats are poked under legs. And walls are adorned with old-fashioned Toby jug-style decorations bearing the face of Sherlock Holmes and his bumbling sidekick Dr Watson. We mean none of this as a criticism: quite the opposite. Food and drink is cheap and cheerful (the shepherd’s pie is a must) and staff are friendly and attentive. How refreshing that a pub has hit the mark so accurately in what it aims to be.
