If Bondi is an Aboriginal word describing the sound of water breaking over rocks (it is, apparently), then perhaps Bidi Bondi should be renamed to describe the sound of a perfect sizzling steak or tender burger being placed onto a soft bun. What that word might be, we don’t know, but we do know that Bidi Bondi serves up burgers, ‘sangers’ and pub grub as well as anyone in Dubai. The light and airy bar oozes surf chic and its relaxed atmosphere livens up as the day draws on. Staff are attentive but don’t pester, drinks are reasonably priced and big screens show live sports.

I have gone here many times before, I found that this really isn't a family friendly place. I usually go here with my family as it is one of the only places in dubai you can get real australian food. However whenever we had tried to have a conversation we weren't able to hear each other due to the game that would be on. The service was not good at all, we had waited half an hour for drinks and all we ordered was water and soft drinks. The food was okay, I personally found the food to greasy and not "high-quality". The only good thing I thought about was the decor, it had a chilled out vibe to it. But no I do not think I would go back here for the food but maybe for drinks as it is more a bar than a restaurant.

Ambience and food is good, however, the service is terrible. The staff are extremely indifferent and lethargic and it almost seems like they don't want to be there. On one occasion I ordered takeout and after processing the payment, the waitress left my credit card and receipts on the table by the cash register turned around and started talking to her colleague, I had to interrupt her to ask if she was done with the payment and collect everything myself. Prices are also high, with a burger meal costing close to 100 dirhams, add some desert and a couple of beers, and well, you can see where this is going.. We can blame the high prices on the location, at least that's understandable, but there is no excuse for lousy service. I will not be going back because of the service...can't emphasize that enough

Relaxed venue.......perhaps a bit toooo relaxed. Suggest they re-look their service. Prices up and service down since my last visit. Over aed 100 for fish & chips & a pint. Had to flag down a waitress to order drinks. Had to ask for menu and then get up and find someone to place food order & then got tired of waiting for a sandwich & left after the pint. Was told by waitress that happy hour only one day per week? Won't be rushing back.

I have been to Bidibondi a few times before: it is a relaxed place with a great vibe. But last night, after eating their chips, I had to be rushed away for emergency medical treatment. The reason: me being allergic to seafood, and Bidibondi recycling all their oil in the kitchen, as was confirmed by the waitress. So, even if you are not allergic, I'd still recommend sticking to drinks and watching the sports. When taking into account medical costs and speeding tickets on the way to the medical facility, their value for money rapidly plunges. Steer clear of their food items, as their kitchen practices are just gross.

I have not been down to the venue for awhile but noticed they have now increased the seating inside and outside the venue which is great , we went on thursday to catch the live acoustic with Jeremy which was really chilled and was a good vibe, Love the new surfy graphics. Good Food, Cold Beer and live tunes , what else could an Aussie girl want !
