One thing that The Meat Co Madinat Jumeirah has over its rivals is its location. Perched by the sprawling faux-souk’s canals, the restaurant is perfectly placed to ensnare tourists or anyone who fancies a spot of steak in the area, which might explain why it’s always busy (quite something considering its size). The size of starters are in keeping with the venue as a whole – they’re massive – while steaks are competently prepared. Other options on the menu include black-sesame encrusted salmon, meaning there’s something for everyone at Meat Co, though this ‘Jack-of-all-trades’ approach might turn off carnivorous connoisseurs. It’s also difficult to shake the fact that the money you spend here could be better used at one of the city’s slicker steakhouses.

A highly disappointing, grossly overpriced, poor quality steakhouse! The ribs were just that; bones generously doused in a cheap starchy sauce of questionable origin, cold one one end, lukewarm on the other and with less then 20grams of meat. @ AED60 an obscene rip-off. Upon confronting the supervisor, she claimed this was the dish and I should have called for her before eating it. There was nothing to eat. My wife`s "chili prawns" turned out to be 5 small shrimps with a large serving of rice. The two 400gram, rib-eye steaks were tasteless and depended heavily on sauce for flavor, which we had not ordered. With the fries-from-a-bag, the 5-star meal was complete. Including an AED200 bottle of Aussi red, the bill came to AED900. Thankfully we had a 2-1 voucher to lessen the pain. We`ll use the "saving" to fund the dry-cleaning bill for our clothes as the whole place is an open kitchen with poor if any fumes extraction. Never again!

This is the fifth time that we have eaten at the Meat Co, and every time we have had a delicious meal. The restaurant is always busy and therefore the atmosphere is always buzzing.
The staff are good fun with personalities and not stiff (as apposed to many restaurants in Dubai). They provide excellent service and create a relaxed yet knowledgeable experience.
The price is slightly high, but matches the quality of the food. Steaks are cooked exactly how you ask for them, the mash is creamy, and the ribs fall off the bone. Everyone on our table had a delicious meal and as full as we all were, we ate the lot!!
We'll definitely be back again.

Nice location, but that was about it. Waiter tried his best, the lamb was tasty but not hot - I declined to send it back as the rest of the table reported their meals were 'fine' and I didn't want to make a scene. (Maybe I chose badly or it was first cooked, last shipped). French Fries were exactly that - not proper chips, but luke warm/cold soggy things. For the price, I felt this was way overpriced for what it was.

I think the Time Out reviewer must have been having a bad day. I have read a few of his last reviews on restaurants most seem to cop his wrath. I have eaten in The Meat Co on many occasions and have found all to be pleasant. I have also tried both the scallops and the red chilli prawns and never have they come as the review indicates. The scallops come with a delicate spoon full of cauliflower puree under each scallop, and whilst the red chilli prawns come with rice, one is not forced to consume it. For some great food & service in an amazing location, Meat Co is the place to go.

Have not been for a while but always considered it very good. Food, service, preferred seating outside as a little to noisy inside but like it anyway.No wits been refurbished will have to try again

I have been a long time addicted to this restaurant. Then, I have been absent for over a year if not even more. Yesterday myself and my wife decided to celebrate our anniversary and I must say the ambiance is still great, service impeccable, but the bill has almost doubled since the last time we had our treat. In other words, it's still a nice place to eat but I think for anyone who doesn't drive a Porsche it's quite expensive and my next visit sadly won't be any time soon.

I really don't know why people consider this restaurant as one of the best steakhouse. The steak I ate was average, and nothing special. Maybe it was only one unsuccessful steak, and all other were perfect. Expected more from so advertised place...

We visited on the 27th of December, and would have preferred a table outdoors, however since no prior booking was made, we had to sit indoors. We started to order at 8pm and the service was good but as the night got on, it got really really loud. not loud as in "busy restaurant" loud, ut "busy market" loud. the chefs and the waiters were shouting, dropping stuff, and banging pots and whatnot. our food was served on time, but I wasnt impressed. i have eaten at the Meat Co in Bahrain several times, and this experience would be the worst. My steak was bland regardless of the sauce. the vegetables were overcooked and the dessert was nothing special. We left the "market" at 11pm and we stunk of cooking oil. They need proper ventilation. I could get the same experience in a similar restaurant for a quarter of the amount we paid. Not happy!!!

We enjoyed the setting but that's about it. Service was poor, when husband asked for well done steak, the waiter actually told him 'you don't want well done, it will be too burnt' Really, so it's a steak house that doesn't know how to cook a steak to order? Once we were served, we never saw our waiter again despite needing drinks topped up, etc.

The steaks arrived and looked delicious, but were tough and absolutely tasteless. The portion size was good and chips were tasty just a major disappointment with our steaks. For the price, I was expecting much much better.

We love going here! Every time me and my husband want to have a romantic dinner as well be with our child, we head for the meat co. Love the ambience inside or outside. Definately full during weekends, and never disappoints. I just called now and its fully booked.. but we will still try to squeeze in. Thats how much we love it there! Remember every restaurant has its good and bad days and those who had a negative comment were probably there on a bad day haha.. cheers

me and my husband are used to go there and it's always the first place we think about even when friends are coming to visit us in Dubai...Is definetely a fab place, where the menu offers a wide range of courses...healthy and tasty...good job!

I ordered T bone steak well done. Despite the trendy flag sticking out of the steak it was burnt on the outside and blood running out of the middle. When I cut into it with the "carving knife" provided it was tough. It must be the easiest cooking task to grill a steak. My daughter had the ribs and although the portion was enormous it was nearly all bone.

Prices were ridiculously high - 5 star hotel restaurant prices for a mediocre cafe style steak house. Bill came with place at bottom to insert a tip even though it said that 10% service included. Will not be going back.
