St. Maxim's

Cook your own steaks in smart surroundings near Mall of the Emirates 13 Reviews

The venue’s USP is its stonegrill concept: order a steak and the staff will present it raw to the table, accompanied by a searing hot stone on which budding chefs can chargrill their own meat. This approach gives you the chance to inspect your cut before you start cooking; luckily the meat is high-quality, beautifully marbled and a cinch to prepare. If you’re less sure of your own culinary prowess, the kitchen is happy to grill the meat for you. Prices are reasonable by Dubai steakhouse standards, making this a nice little spot for a post-shop dinner.

Took my wife to St Maxim for her birthday last night..........its was wonderful! Service and food were impeccable. Steaks grilled to perfection. Steak Tartare was very good as were the garlic snails. Snails were a touch over done, but still tasty. I recommend the Pinot Grigio with steak and the Stoli martinis were the best. I guess the only negative thing I could say about the experience was the decor was a bit out dated, but still very classy. Background music was perfect. Bill for two was just over AED 1000 which was VERY reasonable for all that we ordered.

Horrific decor I think their interior designer is somehow related to count dracula, tasteless lumpy food, cafiteria style cutlery etc... sweet waitress but really that is not enough for me to return for!

The best meal i have ever had much better than the eiffel tower or the crillon, both of which are exceptional but this is miles better. Fillet steak on the stone is my favourite due to the perfect seasoning and tenderness making it absolutely divine.

We went once this year in July 11 and love it. Having been there about 4 times in July 2008 the staff remembered us.
The food is great (never had a problem) and the staff are excellent and very friendly. They are great with kids also.
Will defo go again next time i am in Dubai.
Thanks for a great night and very good food.

I went there twice and the stuff is very polite. At my last visit in may i got a steak which was orded medium and it was dry and awful. The side dish was tastless and cold. The dessert was fantastic.

I will return to give them one more chance but i will not take the risk to order again a steak.

I was amazed by other reviews. We went for lunch and perhaps this is why it was soooo bad. The decor is horrific, moonlighting song came on and I was immediately back in the 80's. The presentation of food was awful, just terrible. Steak and chips came as literally a dozen barely cooked steak chips and a steak on a cheap white plate, no garnish or sauce. The bar area is a cross between a English pub in Spain and a B&B style bar with exposed cables and strangely selected TV shows. The lady serving was helpful and looked after my daughter well, but I will never set foot in this restaurant again, there are just so many better options.

Family and I love St Maxim’s, the food and friendliness of the staff is superb
I am not one to get dressed up, they do not have a problem if you wear a dinner suit or a pair of shorts the welcome is always the same.

If you are not hungry it’s worth having a few drinks at the bar and watching Mr. Bean on the TV screens.

Well worth a visit “you won’t regret it"
Keep up the great work. I will be visiting again when I am back UAE

I'm on business in Dubai for nearly a year now. As far as I can say, the food and service is outstanding. Second to none. I like to assure that nobody will be disapointed. Just to watch the service peronal is a delight. 100% professional people.
Keep up the great work.

Ventured in here 2 days back on a Friday afternoon not expecting to see it open in the middle of Ramadan. French interiors with rich tapestry and huge chandeliers. Since it was neither lunch nor dinner time, I decided to try the garlic snails. A bowl of stuffed olives and bread were brought. Just 4 pieces or so of snail and they were drowning in about an inch deep of melted butter. The finely chopped garlic and herb were at the bottom of this pool where they tend to remain when you use the fork to extricate the meat. Otherwise, it was good albeit small for about for a price of around Dhs 59.

Steaks in any variation is great. Best service, can recommend best, even when you are there with groups.

Best steak I've had in Dubai, been here a few times. Always great service, great food and great value. Best to let them grill your meat instead of trying the stonegrill - unless you've never done before and then it's fun
