You don’t visit a burger joint for the atmosphere (somewhat sterile), the service (a bit slow) or the salads on the menu (an afterthought). You are here for the meat – and the black Angus beef at GBK is as high-quality as any chain restaurant in Dubai. Burgers are thick, tasty and covered with a wide variety of toppings, from the standard American classic cheeseburger to sandwiches dripping with satay, chilli, guacamole and more. Fries are thick and satisfying, while coladas and the (oddly named) ‘Ice-e-Rittas’ crushed-ice drinks are refreshing. But the burgers are the stars of the show. Gourmet indeed.
