Bu Tafish
A lot to like, but the service needs retuning 6 Reviews

Bu Tafish goes straight for the jugular in its attempts to convey the fact it’s an Arabic seafood restaurant. Staff are decked out in snappy sailor uniforms (waiters wear blue, while managers wear Top Gun-esque white fatigues), classical wooden ship wheels adorn the walls, fish nets hang from the ceiling and there’s a row of rather empty-looking fish tanks in the centre.
But all this is undermined by the menu’s first page, which offers not a single seafood dish; instead there's a long list of starters like baba ganoush and hummus. Turn the page, however, and you’ll find an endless selection of fish, from hammour to sultan Ibrahim, cooked in all manner of ways. Follow a sailor to the seafood display counter to get recommendations, then go for baked, grilled, or battered. Sadly, meals are slow to arrive, but when they do come, they’re not bad. Try the gilt-headed sea bream, prepared in Mediterranean style – it’s juicy and succulent.
