Al Hallab
A Lebanese dining institution with three branches, all bursting with character 11 Reviews
This Lebanese brand (which began in 1881 as a sweet shop in Tripoli) conducts itself with all of the confidence of an institution – the gaggles of waiters (there seems to be someone whose sole job is to pass you post-dinner towels) swan around with confidence, the interiors are unapologetically grandiose, with neoclassical frescoes adorning the arched ceiling and the food is top of the class. The shawarmas are juicy and well-cooked, the bread is always fresh and the grills well marinated and soft. With Dubai Fountain views from its terrace, and views out to the fountain inside of The Dubai Mall from its interior, there are few better places to take visitors for the prerequisite sampling of Dubai’s excellent Levantine cuisine.
