Zahr El-Laymoun offers healthy Lebanese fare (nothing is fried). The decor is eclectic; the inside exudes a homely touch, while the outdoor terrace area is similarly decorated with plush pillows and mismatched colours – not forgetting spectacular views of the Burj Khalifa. Service ranges from attentive to indifferent – it is possible to enter the restaurant and wait for five minutes to be seated. However, the staff are friendly once they notice you. The choice of dishes on offer is simple and makes it easy to choose what to order – the kababs deserve a special mention for their succulence and tenderness. Prices for some dishes are higher than elsewhere but that’s what you pay for the prime location. For guilt-free grilled Lebanese fare, a scenic setting and an unhurried meal, Zahr El-Laymoun is a good bet.
