Mogador
Moroccan eatery on Marina Walk serves magical dishes 7 Reviews

It’s hard to mention this restaurant without a Harry Potter reference (‘Which house in Hogwarts is that then, eh?’ etc). Sadly, the restaurant’s name had nothing to do with a school for witchcraft and wizardry, but happily everything to do with what turned out to be tasty Moroccan cuisine. This said, there’s something fairly magical about Mogador’s façade, which is lit up with wand-like glowing lights, embellished with a water feature, and set underneath dark green and red canopies. The menu is as enticing as the decor – the zaalouk (described on the menu as aubergine caviar), chicken briwates and kefta tajine are all worthy orders. It’s worth nothing the hissing tajine is plentiful, and the tender minced lamb is flavoured with shades of ginger and turmeric and Mogador also makes a big deal of its traditional pastries – think almond and raisin fekka to sesame and almond ghriyba (biscuits).
