Nestled in the uppermost portions of the Dusit Thani hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road, this restaurant may be lacking slightly in atmosphere, but boasts views of the surrounding area from an interesting new vantage point. Though Friday brunch can sometimes be a lively, busy affair, diner traffic is otherwise still at a relative minimum throughout the week and you may find yourselves the sole diners on the floor. The restaurant’s buffet offerings are relatively unadventurous, though on Saturdays there is a reasonably-priced Asian brunch with some interesting cold Thai salads alongside the tiresomely omnipresent sushi rolls. There’s nothing much to stand out about the Californian, but equally it does little to offend. If you’re in the market for fuss-free, frill-free lunch and a reasonable buffet deal, you could do an awful lot worse.
