This spacious Japanese restaurant situated in the upper echelons of the Radisson Royal (formerly JAL) offers a huge teppenyaki restaurant on one floor, with a sushi selection on the second. Offerings are all competently made by experienced sushi and teppenyaki masters, though the venue itself lacks the chic intimacy of other upscale Japanese restaurants found around town. What ICHO does have on its side, however, is the fact it offers jaw-dropping views of the Sheikh Zayed Road (it’s almost worth going just for this). However, if you like to dine on sophisticated Japanese offerings in atmospheric surroundings, there are better bets across Dubai.

I was very disappoint. The service was terrible. The waitress doesn't know how to smile. Bartender was from India and he doesn't know how to prepare cocktails!! Plus we were waiting 35 minutes. I will never come back.

What a waste of time and money. The service was AWFUL. The waitress actually recommended a dish to us based on the fact that it was easier for them. The portions are extremely tiny but expensive. And the food was only so-so.

My friends tried the "Meat Me @ ICHO" which happens every Sunday and for 175 AED , food and soft drinks, we had a very nice time. Chef Manolito was very knowledgeable and he is very entertaining. The waiters as well were very accommodating. I enjoyed the food as well as my friends and we will be back for their other promotion (SEA ME @ ICHO)

The best French restaurant experience on Tuesday's nights !
I've been told by friends that the 2 French executive chefs are making
French show cooking on a teppaniaki table. AMAZING experience!!!! Fantastic food... foie gras... John Dory... fillet and the talent of chefs friendly interacting, explaining tastes, cooking etc ... A must try experience.. Hope next time service (wine service and waiters...) would be better in order to make the dinner perfect.

I did not know the Radisson Royal Hotel, and even less the japanese restaurant, ICHO. It was a great surprise, we were a goup of friends celebrating a birthday. we were brought to a very big table in a semi private room with a great view on the Sheikh Zayed road. The food was good and the service was friendly. My cosmo was perfect, a great place to watch fireworks at the Palm.

after reading the reviews above i wonder if i have been to the same restaurant. i eat often at dubai's japanese restaurants and was excited to try benkay and incredibly disappointed afterwards. i was expecting good quaility being in the j.a.l tower however, the sushi was tasteless and the grade of steak they were using in the teppan dishes a disgrace. i would not recommend this restaurant unfortunately, the waitress was attentive however the food was a complete disappointment verging on embarassing.

Ideal for Business lunch, big teppanyaki table,
a perfect way for a lunch break.
This hotel has innovative restaurants, different concepts, definitely not to be missed in Dubai.

A place i would recommend:
the best "real" japanese food with a stunning view on Sh. Zayed Road especially in the evening.
Business lunch is as well a good value.

I have been several times to the Jal hotel japanese restaurant. The welcome is very warm and polite. The design is japanese, refined. Subdued lighting let the customer to enjoy the amazing view on the perspective of the amazing Sheikh Zayed Road on one side, and on the other side the sea view with the old Dubai and villas. This is creating a contrast highly appreciated by my friends and myself.
I took sashimis, so fresh and the tuna was the best I could try in Dubai. the tepaniaky is very brand new one, and the equipment is first class. The tepan chief are masters in caring customers and the food, vegetables just cooked to keep all their taste and nutrition qualities, and the wagyu beef was just unbelievable, cook at a point of perfection. Service very discret and efficient, customers around us are business men, a lot of japanese nationals, this is a place to go for any business lunch or dinner, and with friends to enjoy the sushi bar and tepan ! thank you to bring Japan to Dubai!

Amazing view over Dubai! This is NOT to be missed.
Very zen ambiance, elegant interior design (pure lines, luxurious material).
Wonderful details in the table setup (fine china and linen), cute origami work left here and there.
Plus you get to choose from 3 cuisine styles: teppanyakii (excellent waguy beef and delicious fried rice!), sushi bar or traditional Japanese dishes.
Very friendly service.
