If you like your meal with a little bit of banter, a lot of noise and the (remote) possibility of singed eyebrows, Benihana is just the ticket. Request a seat at the teppanyaki grill, because that’s where all the fun is. The menu offers a number of hearty options including assorted seafood (scallops, prawns and salmon) and surf and turf (lobster tail and fillet mignon), and the chef will entertain you with the usual gimmicks – banging utensils, getting the grill to breathe fire like a dragon and catching prawn tails in his hat. All teppanyaki options include rice, salad and artery-clogging (but delicious) desserts – deep fried ice cream or deep fried banana with ice cream, if you dare.

My husband and myself spent an interesting night at Benhiana for his birthday. We went for the Sunday Tepanyaki night and enjoyed the chef preparing the food. Although the food is a little too salty for our taste, nonetheless we enjoyed our meal.

The food is very nice and authentic Japanese. Very good service. Just make sure to book in time if you want to do Teppanyaki - its always packed.

My Friend has a Rotana card, which gives us 50% discount on the bill. We ordered some sushis, a few beers and a full authentic japanese teppanyaky salmon with rice and vegetables. Very honestly we got our money worth. We sat outdoor and the weather was just beautiful, we sipped our beers watching a live band on the other side of the huge terrace, and it was very cool. There was a ton of people on the italians side of the terrace, nice hip and young crowd and also quite a few kids as well, which makes methink that the place allows kids in. Anyway JBR being so congested with cars it's great to have a nice neighbourhood restaurant, licensed and still affordable (although it's not exactly cheap if you don't have the Rotana Card). The girls doing the service were smiley and running, it could be a bit faster but the place was indeed crowded.

I agree with other comments, terrible food, terrible service, DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!
Very bad service: the manager, Frank, was obnoxious and completely uninterested in his customer's satisfaction.
The food was tasteless, the cocktail had no alcohol in it but the bill at the end is stunning!

DO NOT THINK YOU CAN USE YOUR ENTERTAINER VOUCHER there, as you will quickly learn your first Japanese lesson: Sushi is not a main course!
Very disappointing experience, would NOT recommend it to anyone. Avoid the place! GO to UMI SUSHI instead :-)

I liked the availability of outdoor seating and placement of tepanyaki tables with normal chairs (compared to Benihana Al Bustan Rotana with bar stools), but was hugely disappointed in the food - ginger sauce for salad was too gingery and fried rice was too buttery and somehow resembled beriyani, just to name few. And service could be more prompt and more attentive. The only highlight of whole meal was ice-cream tempura. Benihana in Al Bustan Rotana offers much better and more authentic food.

terrible service, terrible food...shame to japanese cuisine. food was extremely buttery, tepanyaki experience was lousy as our chef continously compared shrimps to mosquitos and salmon to salmonella (poor humour killed our appetite) worst part, we had a table for 9pm and were only served till the entire tepanyaki section got filled up!!..(staff attitude didnt help either) so be prepared to starve, instead head to rosso next door which seemed to have a better ambience and was buzzing with happy people who im assuming were well fed and served!

Was busy at all. The food is very nice. We sitted at Tepinyaki table. Shef play'snd cook's with fun. Food is really tasty.

We spent a very fun night. The tepenyaki is very interesting to see. The food is not the best, but it's not just about that. The whole show is exciting. Recommended with kids.
