Located outdoors, in the middle of the Souk Madinat Jumeirah, you can’t help but feel that A’Rukn is not making the most of its prime real estate. For many, it is simply the shisha spot you walk past en route to somewhere else but sit down and order from the menu and you’ll find service typically slow. Fortunately the options are reasonable; order a spread of Arabic mezze or seafood and you can offer a visitor a good tasting lesson on local cuisine - you’ll just have to wait half an hour for it to arrive. It’s also, unusually for an Arabic café, licensed. Worth a visit if you’ve got time to kill.
