An instant hit with Dubai’s beautiful crowd when it opened last year and its popularity endures. At night, its popularity with Emirates crew members assures a good crowd of lustful men.
At lunchtime, however, it attracts well-heeled professionals from Emirates Towers offices who get an opportunity to sample a bit of deep South hospitality.
For the purposes of this review, we tried out the lunchtime menu, which is nothing else, is comprehensive.
A well stuffed and piping hot beef pot pie was one of four lunchtime specials that includes soup and a soft drink for Dhs45; a sound choice.
The Steak Sandwich (Dhs40) was regrettably a mince sandwich and no match for man-sized appetite, but the Cajun chicken Sandwich (Dhs36) was devoured with hearty approval.
Ambience, particularly if you choose to sit outside, is very pleasant.
All in all, this is a relaxing lunchtime hangout that becomes very ‘lively’ in the evenings. Please make the steak in the sandwich a little more substantial though.
