Maya
Pricey Modern Mexican at Dubai Marina 4 Reviews

- Picture 1 of 2

Maya is a standout in Dubai’s dining scene, if for no other reason than it serves Mexican food with flair. Consultant chef Richard Sandoval fuses traditional Mexican ingredients with Europe and Asia influences, just as he has done with Maya restaurants in New York and San Francisco. Staff are numerous and enthusiastic upon your arrival, but you may have to keep tabs on them during your meal – and make sure there’s one about to make fresh guacamole at your table. It’s always a lively talking point throughout the evening. The enrijolas starter is subtle and different: soft corn tortilla containing Oaxaca cheese and black bean puree that resembles a Chinese duck pancake. The lamb chipotle is tender and juicy, and joins a large slab of marinated halibut as part of the pescado talla. With such a diverse menu, there tends to be something for everyone.
