Olives
Luxurious, spacious and refreshingly casual all-day dining spot 2 Reviews
Its reputation precedes it, and thankfully Olives does not disappoint. Luxurious, spacious surroundings with imposing marble pillars, and vertiginous ceilings that conjure Michelangelo moments set the scene. But you need only follow your nose to track this eatery down; the aroma of promising, authentic cuisine beckons you inside. Irresistible smells and the relaxing atmosphere are not the only temptations, however.
The real treat lies at the poolside terrace whose tasteful lighting creates a truly intimate experience that’s topped off by seaside views. The à la carte menu is suitably varied, but don’t write off the all-you-can-eat buffet, which would challenge even the hardiest of buffet critics to think again; the hot and cold offerings are fresh, crisp, and, when it’s called for, piping hot. Noteworthy starters include the juicy prawns in the seafood salad and for mains, the beef fillet dish is an excellent choice.
Dessert-wise, the only tut-factor is the excess of stodgy puddings when, after so much food, a fluffy mousse or delicate panna cotta would be a preferable option.
