Fryer Tuck
Fried chicken, döner kebabs and other chippy essentials 1 Reviews
From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2007
If you’re sick of ubiquitous soggy French fries and have a hankering for pukka chunky British chips, then Fryer Tuck is your friend. That iconic British combination of fish and chips is available in this very English cafe-style joint in local hammour variant, but homesick expatriates need not worry – the fish is firm and flaky, if a little bland.
Surprisingly well hidden opposite the Jumeirah Centre, it’s just a moment from the public beach so a takeaway on the sand is a tempting option. If you do sit in, expect blue tiled walls, brown glass plates and a nice cup of tea. The menu also boasts fried chicken and, to the delight of many Brits, döner kebabs. Screw up your eyes, savour the genuine mushy peas, and you could just about be in a chippy in Margate on a summer’s day.
