From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2008

The classic Berlin-style soup is full of soft potato and chunky pork pieces, which makes it a pleasant enough broth, despite the fact that the black pudding slices sometimes come slightly dry, hard and all too scarce.

A better bet is the marinated salmon, which comes curled up like rose petals on crisp potato blinis surrounding a dense forest of salad leaves sprayed with basil foam. A pot of fluffy mashed potato with horseradish and a sterling thatch of sauerkraut accompanies the colossal and tender pink pork joint.

Equally well executed is the kellerpfanne; pan-fried medallions of beef, veal and pork, all cooked perfectly to order, surrounded by sautéed vegetables with fluffy roast potatoes and drizzled in a creamy peppercorn sauce.

The freshly baked apple cake is moist, teeming with fruit and ably assisted by a scoop of subtly flavoured cinnamon ice-cream and a little pot of hot chocolate sauce.
