Dubai Outlet Mall might be better known for last season’s threads at bargain basement prices, but everything about this café is finger-on-the-pulse contemporary. The food is startlingly modern, right down to the waiters’ bright pink uniforms.

Triple topping open sandwiches beckon, with fillings like crab, egg and wild curry on offer, along with ciabattas, well-made coffees and desserts – we like the moist, icing slathered carrot cake.

If you haven’t blown the budget on designer threads, there are a few pretty household items on sale at Aran too, like candles and knick knacks.
