From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2009

Brauhaus is a faux German bar that is better visited for its impressive and alternative selection of beers than its stodgy and inauthentic food.

The plethora of mock British and Irish pubs around town means that at least there are a few pub chefs familiar with bangers and mash or fish and chips (though often, even these go astray). But, the humble schnitzel seems a step too far – though this shouldn’t necessarily come as a surprise – you get the sense that the back bar and kitchen area are yet to experience the footfall of a genuine Teuton.

From the schnitzel to the strudel, the food here will disappoint anyone who has eaten in Mittel Europe, and probably many that haven’t. The selection of beers, however, is more impressive. So, if you are keen to watch a sporting event, or want a quiet drink and a chat, this place serves well. But it is not somewhere to head to for food.
