What exactly is an extreme sports cafe anyway? Does it involve eating a burger, sandwich and smoothie in under two minutes?
Whatever it is, this looks mysteriously like a regular café to Time Out, except for some youth culture slogans and extreme sports gear adorning the walls. The idea is meant to promote healthy eating among young folk, and they must be doing something right because, not only can you declare your allegiance to the brand with a t-shirt, cap or watch, there are now a handful of other cafes sprouting up around Dubai.
The Times Square branch is the flagship, serving up portions of sandwiches, gourmet grills and tramazzinis (filled pitas) to a mall rat crowd. Wash it all down with an ‘Extreme’-style smoothie or carrot juice.
