From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2009
It’s rare to see a restaurant perennially packed, yet Aangan is almost consistently full.
Wealthy Indian families seem to flock here, and it’s no wonder; the food is excellent. It doesn’t really matter what you order from the menu, as this place doesn’t do missteps.
A starter of tandoori lamb is always rich, juicy and intricately spiced. One of the house specialties, lamb shank cooked in a tomato curry, is so good it has Time Out in raptures every time we order it (which is a lot.
We’re rather partial to this place). Vegetarian fare is every bit as good, though not quite as adventurous. An order of fish moli is as delicate as anything you’d find in Kerala. Plus, there’s an in-house band that belts out traditional Indian tunes. Service is brilliant, if a bit servile, but we’re usually too tranced out by the food and music to notice.
