Fine French dining in Garhoud 4 Reviews

From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2009
The bourgeois decor smacks of renaissance France, the glassware is as crystal clear as an Evian spring, and the food could rival any café in Paris. All in all, Café Chic is a trusty comrade to any Garhoud-based business types looking to impress.
The menu is a mish mash of Gallic terms, such as ‘en croute’ and ‘flambé’, and there’s a rogue smattering of Italian gems. But once you’re past the Collins French/Italian dictionary challenge, a veritable feast awaits.
The attentive – at times overly so – waiters spring into action, as if it was Louis XVI who was plonked at the pristine table, not some lowly hacks in search of pommes frites. Dishes are served with true Gallic sass: silver domes unveil wafts of crustacean jus, frog’s legs and escargots.
The roasted guinea fowl is divine, and the succulent sole meunière is enough to transport diners to the meandering alleys of Montmarte. The bread basket is a pick-‘n’-mix affair, with garlic twists vying for attention over walnut-encrusted rolls, and that’s not to mention the amuse bouches, petit fours and palate cleansers that aid this good-value meal. Overall, chic and cheerful.
